About This Game Death Is Not an Escape.Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught, tortured and killed. Survivors play in third-person and have the advantage of better situational awareness. The Killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their prey. The Survivors' goal in each encounter is to escape the Killing Ground without getting caught by the Killer - something that sounds easier than it is, especially when the environment changes every time you play.More information about the game is available at http://www.deadbydaylight.comKey Features•Survive Together… Or Not - Survivors can either cooperate with the others or be selfish. Your chance of survival will vary depending on whether you work together as a team or if you go at it alone. Will you be able to outwit the Killer and escape their Killing Ground?•Where Am I? - Each level is procedurally generated, so you’ll never know what to expect. Random spawn points mean you will never feel safe as the world and its danger change every time you play.•A Feast for Killers - Dead by Daylight draws from all corners of the horror world. As a Killer you can play as anything from a powerful Slasher to terrifying paranormal entities. Familiarize yourself with your Killing Grounds and master each Killer’s unique power to be able to hunt, catch and sacrifice your victims.•Deeper and Deeper - Each Killer and Survivor has their own deep progression system and plenty of unlockables that can be customized to fit your own personal strategy. Experience, skills and understanding of the environment are key to being able to hunt or outwit the Killer.•Real People, Real Fear - The procedural levels and real human reactions to pure horror makes each game session an unexpected scenario. Devs are memeworthy at this point with how many mistakes they make. They are more interested in making a quick $ then focusing on the countless flaws and bugs with their game, and it's honestly embarrassing at this point, and cannot be defended any longer. If you are planning on buying this game, consider if you are okay with a game which has more interest in putting out a new cosmetic every week than fixing the bugs which every update seems to introduce more of. Other reviews will tell you how bad the bugs are, every "patch" introduces more bugs than it fixes, and these bugs break things which should not have problems and have no correlation to anything that's been added. Without fail, at least one perk, if not more, breaks and no longer works properly\/at all every update. Licensed DLC killer Freddy has been ruined for a ridiculously long time, with the devs continuously telling us they're working on a revamp of the killer, which has been going on for what feels like at least a year now. Concept of the game is good, but the poor effort from the devs who have their priorities in the wrong places ruin this game, and people considering buying this game deserve to know what they're getting themselves into. To top it all off, it has what could possibly be one of the most toxic gaming communities of all time.If you like buying cosmetics for a game that doesn't work properly, and then experiencing toxic gameplay\/post game chats every other game, this is one for you.. too much dlc not enough SPOOK. Can't wait for the new "issue fixed" when the killers will have to do generatos in order to escape from the evil survivorsPS: Rip main pigs. I think harv's review nails the strengths and weaknesses of this game better than I could. I don't want to spend much time rehashing what's already been said, so I'd encourage you to read his review for more in-depth discussion, but here are a few brief thoughts of my own:The premise of this game is great: 1 killer hunts 4 other players and attempts to sacrifice them on meat hooks, while the rest play as survivors who are trying to repair enough generators to open the gates and escape. And when everyone plays the game the way it's marketed as being played, it's brilliant.Unfortunately, the points system used to level up doesn't actually support the intended play style. Because it's essentially based on participation, rather than win conditions, there's more incentive for players to drag out the game than to try to win it. You end up with survivors who should be in a hurry to escape alive instead running in circles near the door after it's been opened, or even actively trolling the killer to earn chase points, because even if they end up losing (dying) as a result, they come out ahead on points. Meanwhile, you get killers who should be trying to actually sacrifice survivors instead dumping them by the exit to be nice because letting them escape costs them little, or standing around while downed players heal just so they can then beat on them more to earn extra brutality points. This is a tough game to rate, because my experiences have been almost fifty-fifty. Every time I play, it's basically a coin flip whether it will be an enjoyable experience or not, depending what kind of players I get stuck with. When it's good, it's really good. When it's bad, it's really bad.I don't regret my purchase, and I continue to play it and enjoy it \u2013 well, at least half the time, anyway. But at that level of inconsistency, I can't whole-heartedly recommend it either. Especially not at full price.. This game makes me want to end my life yet i keep playing it
